John Fahy – Viola
John Fahy comes from a background in composition, having completed a B.Mus. from the University of Sydney in 2003. During his degree he had the opportunity to study with Anne Boyd. He later returned to study viola at the Sydney Conservatorium, completing a second B.Mus. in 2010.
At the Sydney Conservatorium he studied under Jane Hazelwood, Caroline Henbest, Rainer Schmidt and Nikki Dival. He developed an interest in Historically Informed Performance playing concerts with the Early Music Ensemble in addition to giving a solo recital on Baroque viola.
Since leaving the Conservatorium John has branched out into performing German folk music and children’s theatre. He is currently studying a Masters of Information Studies through Charles Sturt University and has ambitions of being a children’s librarian.
